The European Packaging Regulation was announced in January 2025 and came into force on February 11, 2025. Most of its far-reaching provisions will apply throughout the EU from around mid-August 2026. In addition to packaging manufacturers, many other companies are also affected by the provisions of the EU Packaging Regulation, as packaging is used or generated in a variety of ways in almost every company.

In future, packaging waste must be reduced, packaging must be recyclable and there are requirements for both the design and the proportion of recycled material it contains. Extended producer responsibility (EPR) is a key aspect of this, which provides for financial participation by manufacturers and distributors of packaging placed on the market.

The IHK Düsseldorf, Bergische IHK and IHK Mittlerer Niederrhein, in cooperation with the Verein zur Förderung der Abfallwirtschaft Rhein-Ruhr-Wupper e.V. (AWRRW), cordially invite you to a joint event on this topic. In the free webinar, lawyer Gregor Franßen from the law firm Franßen & Nusser Rechtsanwälte PartGmbB will present the contents of the EU Packaging Regulation, take a closer look at its impact on companies and be available to clarify questions.

Participation is free of charge. Registration is requested.
