Our economy is faced with major challenges associated with implementing and financing the climate-neutral and digital transformation. Because of this, more venture capital and a better awareness of transformation processes are to be mobilised. After all, innovation and cooperation open up opportunities and are the key to meeting these challenges.
Fin.Connect.NRW is an initiative that aims to expand the financial ecosystem. It is concerned above all with financing the economic transformation and initiates solution proposals and projects.
In the first phase of the project (2020 to October 2023), a network was created that brought together primarily the financial and credit industry (banks, insurance companies, private equity) and some companies from the real economy. In events and studies, the participants analyzed and explained in particular the necessity and importance, but also the difficulties and challenges of transformation financing.
Fin.Connect.NRW is now being expanded and strengthened on the initiative of MWIKE. To this end, a separate office for Fin.Connect.NRW will be established in November 2023 in order to further expand the network and deepen the networking and close integration of the financial and real economy. The aim is to establish a competence center for transformation financing in NRW that supports the real economy and the financial sector in a variety of ways. The Fin.Connect.NRW office is supported by three partners, the Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft (IW) with its scientific expertise, ZENIT with its innovation, transformation and networking expertise and the IHK NRW with its professional training and qualification expertise.
In our network, we work together with partners from the realms of science, finance and the real economy. This ecosystem of cooperation partners and financial centre players forms the heart of the initiative.
